What if the hero you’ve been waiting for isn’t someone in a movie or a novel? What if she’s already inside of you, ready and waiting for you to listen?
For many women, especially in midlife, there comes a point where we realize we’ve been taught to shrink, to soften our voice and wait our turn. We’re taught to downplay what we know, what we feel, and who we really are.
And over time, that conditioning can disconnect us from the very power we most need. Our own.
This week at Hearth Writes, I talk about what it means to embody your inner heroine, not in some hyped-up, perfection-driven way, but through grounded, daily choices and practices that bring you back into your body, your voice, and your presence.

There are five simple but powerful ways to reconnect with your strength:
Posture Reset
How you stand affects how you feel. Root your feet, lengthen your spine, and breathe deeply for two minutes. This isn’t posing—it’s remembering.
Claiming Language
Notice when you say things like “I hope I can…” or “I’m probably not qualified…” and gently shift them to “I’m learning…” or “I choose to…” Let your words reflect the power you’re reclaiming.
Visualization
Picture yourself clear, grounded, and confident. See her. Let her guide you. (Yes, this actually rewires your brain—research backs it.)
Movement That Connects
Walk, stretch, shake, or dance—but do it with presence. No podcasts, no multitasking. Just you and your body, syncing up again.
Mirror Work
Look yourself in the eye. Tell yourself something kind. Say “I love you.” Say it again. Say it like you mean it. It might feel awkward at first—but it works.

This isn’t about becoming someone else; rather, it’s about returning to the you that’s been buried under other people’s expectations, disappointments, and noise.
Your heroine isn’t someone out there. She’s you.
And are you ready to become the you that you were always meant to be?
