As the pandemic descended around us, I stopped running and took stock in my life and priorities. I also had the good fortune of having a long-term consulting gig at a movie company end at nearly the same time, so I was free to figure out my next life steps.
I realized what I loved was putting on events like I had for years and for developing experiential programs that brought people together and built community. I even love doing newsletters like this! And writing books was something I wasn’t going to put off any longer.
I also realized my spiritual practice and inner journey to my authentic self was my top priority. I truly believe that we can’t change the world unless we change ourselves. Inner transformation creates outer transformation.
Now, don’t get me wrong, we need activists and advocates to hold corporations accountable and to bring truth into the public eye, so I’m not criticizing anyone working toward outer good. But some of the angriest people I’ve ever met are peace activists.
I’ve been on a journey to myself for over twenty-five years, so, trust me, I’m in no way perfect or have the answers. I know I have a long way to go - but I’m now okay with that. I’m learning to embrace my flaws and my humanity and laugh with joy at this crazy thing we call life.
As my journey deepens, my joy grows. And with that, I hope to inspire and possibly help people who want to carve their own path.
That’s how real change happens.
Anyone with me?
A Little Housekeeping
I’ve decided to re-launch my blog “Diane Digs” on my Whole Healthy Group website and publish proper, old-school newsletters from there. As of now (at least). the newsletters will cover my most recent articles, as well as news and information I think the community might find helpful.
I’ll still be publishing pieces here on Substack, though they’ll probably be shorter and more pithy. I’m still figuring out what I can realistically do, but I’m leaning toward original content on both but longer pieces on Diane Digs the blog. Diane Discovers might be more about, well, discovering…..
By remaining here on Substack, you’ll receive articles as I write them. If you sign up for Diane Digs through my website, you’ll get a newsletter every month or two with a roundup of my recent work. And if you bookmark the blog, you can check in any time day or night.
I know! I’m still figuring it out myself. Just know that wherever you sign up, you will have my utmost appreciation.
You can sign up for the Diane Digs newsletter anytime. You can subscribe to my Substack through the button below. Thanks for any and all support!
