Support is essential! I don’t know where I’d be if it wasn’t for my writing group , which we began in 2009 in graduate school. We all live in different states, but we’ve kept it going. Often, I’m not so good at giving myself advice, but I give great advice to other people 😂

I hear you! One of my practices these days is learning the art of active listening. I can dish it out.... And here's to writing groups! I don't know where I'd be without mine also - we're all over and meet on zoom every day. Congrats on keeping one going for so long!

My last big change got forced on us by a job loss. It still hurts, I still have anger, but I'm glad where I am now because two things can be true at once. Sometimes we just have to be pushed.

I'm sorry you had to go through a layoff - it totally sucks. I think we have to go through the 5 stages of grief because it is a big loss. And both your feelings are totally valid - in time, you might find your anger lessens. I'm pretty much through the hurt and anger, and I choose to sit in the joy and excitement of the new. So great that you're grateful for where you are!

I can't say it was easy - but it's the best thing I've ever done!
